React Native development.
One codebase, two app stores, and no compromise you can feel in your thumb.
MeetOnChai Studio builds iOS and Android apps with React Native and Expo. It is our usual pick when an app is mostly screens, forms, lists and API calls, which describes most business apps. You get one codebase, one team, and builds tested on real phones before they reach either store.
Why we use it
Why React Native, and when not.
Building two native apps means two codebases, two sets of bugs and usually two teams. React Native renders real native components, so the app looks and feels at home on each platform, while the logic is written once in TypeScript. With the New Architecture now the default, the old bridge bottleneck is gone and performance is close enough to native for the vast majority of apps.
Expo is a big part of why we like it in 2026. Builds, over-the-air updates and store submission are handled by tooling that works, rather than a week of Xcode and Gradle wrangling. Over-the-air updates in particular mean a copy fix or a small bug can ship the same day without waiting for store review.
When it's the wrong call: If your app lives on heavy graphics, real-time audio or video processing, complex background work, or deep platform features like widgets and watch apps at its core, go native with Swift and Kotlin. React Native can reach those through native modules, but if most of the app is native modules, you are paying for two worlds. We will tell you which side your app falls on before we quote it.
What we build
What we build with React Native.
- 01
Customer ordering apps
Browse, cart, checkout and order tracking, with push notifications when the order is on its way.
- 02
Booking and appointment apps
Calendars, slots, reminders and payments for clinics, salons, tutors and service businesses.
- 03
Field and delivery apps
Apps for drivers and staff with location, camera, offline mode and sync when the signal comes back.
- 04
Companion apps for a web product
A mobile app that shares types, API clients and logic with your existing React or Next.js web app.
- 05
Fintech and wallet front-ends
Secure login, biometric unlock and payment flows, built to pass App Store and Play Store review.
- 06
MVPs for both stores
Get on iOS and Android at the same time with one team, then learn from real users before investing further.

Honest comparison
React Native vs the alternatives.
vs Flutter
Also a solid cross-platform choice with excellent rendering consistency. We lean React Native because it shares a language and talent pool with your web stack, which keeps one team able to own everything.
vs Native (Swift and Kotlin)
The right call for performance-critical or platform-heavy apps. It costs roughly two builds for two platforms, so it needs to earn that.
vs Progressive Web App
Cheapest to ship and no store review. Push notifications and device access are more limited, especially on iOS, so it suits simple tools more than consumer apps.

FAQ
React Native questions.
Will a React Native app feel slower than a native one?
For most business apps, users cannot tell the difference. React Native renders native views, and the New Architecture removed the old bridge overhead. Where it can show is in heavy animations or processing, which we flag early and handle with native modules if needed.
Do you handle App Store and Play Store submission?
Yes, end to end: developer accounts, screenshots, privacy declarations, review notes and any rejections. Apple review in particular has its own rules, and we deal with that so you do not have to.
Can we update the app without going through store review?
For JavaScript and asset changes, yes, using Expo over-the-air updates. Anything that changes native code, such as a new permission or SDK, still needs a new store build. We set up both paths from day one.
Can you integrate eSewa or Khalti into a mobile app?
Yes. Both offer mobile-friendly payment flows, and we wire them in alongside cards or international gateways like Stripe if you sell outside Nepal. Payment confirmation is always verified on the server, never trusted from the app alone.
Can you take over an existing React Native app?
Yes. Older apps on the legacy architecture or ejected Expo setups are common. We audit first, then upgrade in steps so the app keeps shipping while we modernise it.
