Hire developers
Hire Node.js Developers
Backend developers who build APIs that stay boring in production, which is the goal.
MeetOnChai Studio places Node.js developers who build the backend your apps depend on: APIs, payment flows, background jobs and the integrations nobody else wants to touch. We have built payment orchestration across Stripe and Razorpay, so we know where money code goes wrong. You interview your developer, they work in your repo, and you get weekly demos of working endpoints.
- Interview before you commitYou meet the developer and decide before any work starts.
- You own the codeWork happens in your repository from day one. Code, designs and accounts are yours.
- NDA before detailsWe sign your NDA, or ours, before you share anything sensitive.
- Your hours, not oursOverlap with India, the Gulf and Europe is easy from GMT+5:45, and we flex for US mornings.

- Fastify, Express, NestJS or Hono
- PostgreSQL and query tuning
- Prisma or Drizzle ORM
- Redis for caching and rate limits
Ecosystem
- Queues with BullMQ or SQS
- Stripe, Razorpay, eSewa and Khalti
- Webhooks and third-party integrations
- Auth with JWT, OAuth and sessions
- Docker and AWS or GCP deployment
- Observability with OpenTelemetry and Sentry
Practices
- Idempotent payment and webhook handling
- Input validation with Zod
- Integration tests against a real database

- API documentation with OpenAPI
On your project
What they'll own.
- 01Design and build APIs your web and mobile apps can rely on, with clear contracts and versioning
- 02Model your data in Postgres and keep queries fast as tables grow
- 03Integrate payment gateways with retries, idempotency and reconciliation so money is never lost or doubled
- 04Move slow work like emails, exports and syncs into background jobs
- 05Add logging, metrics and alerts so problems show up before your users report them
- 06Write integration tests, document endpoints and demo progress every week
Right role?
When this is the hire you need.
- 01
Your backend has outgrown the frontend framework
When you have mobile apps, partners or background processing hitting the same API, a dedicated backend developer keeps it stable and separate.
- 02
Payments and integrations are the hard part
Gateways, webhooks, ERPs and logistics APIs fail in odd ways. A Node.js developer who has handled them before saves you expensive surprises.
- 03
Consider Python for data-heavy work
If the backend is mostly data science or ML pipelines, Python is often the better fit. For APIs, real-time features and TypeScript teams, Node.js wins.
How hiring works
From chai call to first commit.
- Step 1
Chai call
We talk about your product, stack, team and what the developer needs to own.
- Step 2
Profiles
You see matched profiles with relevant work, not a stack of CVs.
- Step 3
Interview
You interview the developer and decide. Nothing starts until you're sure.
- Step 4
Start
NDA signed, access set up, work happens in your repo. Weekly demos from then on.
Engagement models
Hire one developer, a pod, or a project.
Pick the one that matches how certain you are about scope. We'll recommend one on the first call, and you can switch later.
Well-defined MVPs, stores and websites
Fixed-scope project
We agree the scope, the price and the milestones up front. You pay per milestone, and scope changes are quoted before they happen, never after.
- Fixed price per milestone
- Written scope with what's in and out
- Best when you know what v1 is
Ongoing products and growing startups
Dedicated developer or team
One developer or a small pod works on your product full time, inside your tools and rituals. You set priorities; we handle the people, reviews and quality.
- Monthly engagement
- Your backlog, your sprint rituals
- Scale up or down with notice
Evolving products and discovery work
Time & materials
You pay for the hours actually spent, tracked against a sprint budget. Good when the problem is still being shaped and flexibility matters more than a fixed number.
- Sprint budgets, not blank cheques
- Weekly time reports
- Change direction any sprint

FAQ
Hiring node.js developers: questions.
Can your Node.js developer work with our existing database?
Yes. Postgres and MySQL are the most common, and MongoDB is fine too. They will learn your schema first and only suggest changes when there is a clear payoff.
Can they integrate eSewa, Khalti and Razorpay alongside Stripe?
Yes. Supporting several gateways behind one clean interface is something we have done before. The tricky parts are webhooks and reconciliation, and that is where they spend the most care.
Do they handle DevOps and deployment too?
For most products, yes: Docker, CI pipelines and deployment to AWS, GCP or a platform like Railway or Render. For large Kubernetes setups, you would want a dedicated DevOps engineer.
Express, NestJS or something else?
It depends on the team. NestJS suits larger teams that want structure. Fastify or Hono suit lean services. If you already use one, your developer works within it rather than starting a rewrite.
How do you keep the backend secure?
Validated input on every endpoint, parameterized queries, secrets kept out of the repo, least-privilege access and dependency updates on a schedule. Your developer will also flag existing risks they find.
