Food & Agriculture
Harvests don't wait for launch dates. Neither do we.
MeetOnChai Studio builds online stores and sourcing platforms for food and agriculture businesses. MangoMasti, a farm-direct mango seller since 2018, went from a WhatsApp number to a live store before the Alphonso season started. WS Nepal lists agriculture and herb suppliers alongside other Nepali categories for business buyers.
The problem
What gets in the way in food & agriculture.
- 01
The season sets the deadline
If the store isn't live when the harvest starts, you've lost the year's best weeks. There's no slipping to next quarter.
- 02
Customers already buy on WhatsApp
Many food businesses grew on word of mouth and a phone number. Forcing those loyal customers through a cold checkout form can cost you the relationship.
- 03
Produce isn't a standard SKU
Varieties, per-kg pricing, mixed boxes and limited stock change through the season. Generic store templates handle this badly.
- 04
Retail and bulk buyers on one site
Families ordering a box and wholesalers asking about export volumes need different paths, without either feeling like an afterthought.
What we build
Software built for how this industry works.
- 01
Seasonal storefronts on a deadline
Tight scope around the core loop of browse, customise and order, so the store is live for the harvest and extras come after.
- 02
Variety catalogs with flavour notes
Each variety gets its own photo, notes and per-kg price, so buyers know what they're choosing without messaging you first.
- 03
Mixed-box combo builders
Let customers mix varieties and quantities in one order. On MangoMasti this was nearly cut as a nice-to-have and became the most-used feature.
- 04
WhatsApp order handoff
The order arrives as a clear, pre-filled message your team can confirm in one reply, no follow-up questions needed.
- 05
Bulk and export enquiry paths
A separate route for wholesale and export buyers that doesn't clutter the retail experience.
- 06
Agri sourcing marketplaces
Category-led platforms where business buyers find verified producers of crops, herbs and processed goods.

Trust & compliance
What we design around from day one.
Food licence display
Food businesses selling in India are expected to show their FSSAI licence number. We give it a clear, consistent place across the store.
Honest product descriptions
Origin, variety and "organic" labels are only as good as the paperwork behind them. We design pages to state what you can back up and nothing more.

FAQ
Food & Agriculture questions.
Can you launch our store before the season starts?
That's exactly what we did for MangoMasti, whose Alphonso season starts in late February. We cut the scope to the core order loop and shipped it in time, with no accounts or reviews at launch. Tell us your harvest date and we'll tell you honestly what fits before it.
Do we need a payment gateway, or can customers order on WhatsApp?
If your customers already trust WhatsApp, an order message can work better than a payment form. MangoMasti launched that way. When you're ready for online payments, we add a gateway without rebuilding the store.
How do you handle per-kg pricing and mixed boxes?
We model varieties, weights and combos properly from the start instead of forcing them into fixed SKUs. Customers pick quantities per variety, and the order lands with the full breakdown.
Can the same site handle wholesale and export orders?
Yes. MangoMasti takes bulk enquiries, including export orders to Singapore, through a separate path that keeps the retail store simple. For full B2B sourcing, a marketplace like WS Nepal is a better fit.
Can we update prices and offers ourselves during the season?
Yes. Prices, availability and promo banners are editable without a code deploy. Mid-season changes shouldn't need a developer.
